These beautiful Geodes are filled with an exquisite combination of Calcite and Geode patterns while measuring 4.5-6 inches in length.
Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate. The Mohs scale of mineral hardness, based on scratch hardness comparison, defines value 3 as "calcite". How is calcite formed? Calcite can form by direct precipitation from waters rich in calcium. As concentrations increase or the amount of water decreases crystals of solid calcite crystals form. Calcite can also form in caves and where springs emerge on the surface Calcite metaphysically is believed to amplify thought, improve memory, and promote development.
A geode is a round rock which contains a hollow cavity lined with crystals and is rated between 6.5 and 7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. What is so special about Geodes? These rocks are completely filled with small compact crystal formations such as agate, jasper or chalcedony that are called nodules. The only difference between a geode and a nodule is that a geode has a hollow cavity, and a nodule is solid. Geodes are metaphysically believed to be powerful crystals for good luck, spiritual growth, and are often utilized in meditation.
